Joelle Martinec "Core Strength/Plank Variations" - Strength & Conditioning Online Class Exercise

This exercise is a great one for core strength and coordination. The addition of the arabesques and twists make it great for the whole body.

Notes
  • Plank helps create a mind-body connection as students learn to use opposing muscles to hold the position.
  • It's especially important to keep the middle from sagging, as that can put too much pressure on the lower back. Think about pushing the belly button up and the booty down.
  • If you need more stabilization when adding the body twist, separate your feet on the floor to give a wider base of support. Think of pushing down in the arms and finding an inward rotation of the muscles to create an "ease" of this exercise.
