This exercise is designed to get used to transferring weight into a balance and changing direction with turns.
Notes
- Make sure knees are rotating from the hips in the 2nd position grande plié.
- Feeling the inner thighs wrapping forward and the booty cheeks smiling will help hold the balance in first position in place.
- Push the weight from the sliding foot into the floor to create the transition from the chassé to the balance.
- Make sure that all the chassés slide into 2nd position, not 4th. The slide into 4th commonly occurs into the 2nd chaîné turn.
