Glyn Gray "Toe & Heel Drop Warmup" - Tap Online Dance Class Warm Up Exercise

This warmup drill introduces 8-4-2-1 repetition and incorporates toe and heel drops, toe taps and zig-zag toe-heels combined. This is a warm you can do every day to help with clarity, speed and even space between beats.

Notes
  • First, let's talk about how you sit. By this I mean that comfortable position you allow your hips, knees, and ankles to rest in while you do this exercise. Your weight needs to be directly over your legs.
  • Allow a little pulse in your knees to add volume to your beats.
  • As you become more confident with the 8-4-2-1 toe and heel drops, add claps between the fast ones as well.
  • After time start to move your toe taps into different positions: in front, to the side, behind and even tucked behind your supporting leg.
  • Sustain a funk upper body groove when executing the hoe heel wiggle section at the end. This helps promote an easier approach for the beats to glide through.
