This progression will really drill your rhythm turn footwork and is a great exercise to work the connection between your arms and how they help your balance, lift, and turn in the step.
Notes
- Arms. The arms are crucial to control, balance, and the look of the step. Focus on their timing so they are helping you with lift and turn.
- Squeeze your inner thighs together going in to the turns. It is the un-crossing of our legs that turns us around. Get low, think about the turn screwing down into the floor.
- Make the turns continuous from beginning to end of each step. For example, I'm already facing the back corner by the 'step' of my 'shuffle step heel heel toe toe.'
