In this exercise you will work on being able to move different parts of your body at different tempos and speeds. Not only will this exercise help with your isolations, it will help you better understand how to count music and enhance your musicality skills.

Notes
  • Stay on the balls of your toes and pliĆ© your legs to stay grounded. This will help you focus on the upper body without compromising the strength of the lower body.
  • Constantly be thinking about the part of the body you are isolating. That means move only the necessary parts and try not to add any additional muscles or body parts.
  • Have confidence that you know what you are doing! You are here to learn and improve, so do not be afraid to really go for it and give it your all, no matter the difficulty.
