Joelle Martinec "Passé Jump Balances" - Jazz/Lyrical Online Dance Class Exercise

This across the floor exercise really utilizes the stretch shorten cycle in your legs. The focus is not necessarily the height of the jumps, but being able to move off of the plié quickly.

Notes
  • Always finding the resistance in opposition, pay attention to the weight as you land out of the jump. Lift up and you descend and press down for the ascension.
  • As the pirouette is added in, be sure to take the last side of the body around with you.
  • Always remember a pirouette is a balance with a spot. Think of the mechanics of the balance, not about getting around in the turn.
