This exercise is designed to use balance along with rotation and length in a flat back arabesque position.
Notes
- In lunge, be conscious about keeping a flat back (not dropping or lifting the head past a flat back position) lengthen the top of the head forward and the bottom of the back heel back.
- Use the hamstring to stabilize the supporting leg. Be aware of the alignment of the knee over the parallel foot.
- As the leg rotates from arabesque to parallel 2nd think about extending the leg out and around of the hip (rather than pulling into the hip).
- Use the belly button and roundness of the spine (making the spine as liquid as possible, rounding from the bottom to the top).
